The new Daiwa BG 2500 packs plenty of performance into a compact spinning reel that feels right at home on Louisiana’s inshore waters.

It is a great match for anglers chasing speckled trout, redfish and flounder with light tackle. The BG 2500 feels smooth and solid in the hand, with a strong drag system and plenty of backbone when a better fish decides to make a run. Its compact size also keeps a rod-and-reel combo light and comfortable, which makes a difference after a full day of casting plastics or popping corks. For anglers looking for a dependable everyday spinning reel that can handle saltwater duty without feeling oversized, the BG 2500 hits a nice sweet spot between lightweight performance and Daiwa toughness.
